Tokyo Centenarian Study
The main objective of the Tokyo Centenarian Study (TCS) was to determine the most important drivers of successful aging (extreme longevity) in Japanese centenarians.
More precisely, goals of TCS were:
- To characterize the ultimate aging phenotype in humans;
- To identify the factors associated with longevity and healthy aging; and
- To describe adaptation to functional decline by centenarians and their families.
