Prospective Population Study of Women in Göteborg
The aim of the Population Study of Women in Gothenburg (PSWG) was to measure key health indicators for the development of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, dementia, and other mental illnesses in women aged over their adult life course.

The population is composed of women living in Gothenburg, Sweden and ranging in age from 26, 38, 46, 54, or 60 years old at their baseline examinations.

- Women were selected to participate if they were born in the years 1908, 1914, 1918, 1922, 1930, 1942, or 1954 and on days ending with 6, 12, 18, 24 or 30.

During the second follow-up (1988-1990) two new age groups of 26 and 38 were included. During the fifth follow-up, a new group aged 38 in 2004 was included in the study. During the sixth follow-up, another group of participants aged 38 in 2016 was included.
