Longitudinal Survey of Immigrants to Canada
The Longitudinal Survey of Immigrants to Canada (LSIC) is a comprehensive survey designed to study the process by which new immigrants adapt to or integrate into Canadian society, including the timing of
stages in the integration process, as well as the factors which influence integration.
LSIC is designed to examine the process during the critical first four years of settlement, a time when newcomers
establish economic, social and cultural ties to Canadian society.
The objectives of the survey are to:
* Study how new immigrants adjust to life in Canada over time.
* Provide information on the factors that can facilitate or hinder this adjustment.
Information on the study description is adapted from Statistics Canada, Longitudinal Survey of Immigrants to Canada, 2022-03-08. This does not constitute an endorsement by Statistics Canada of this product.
