Child Health Study
The objective of the Child Health Study is to examine the effects of child maltreatment on multiple etiological processes believed to play a role in the onset and maintenance of adverse health outcomes for victims.
The specific aims of the study are to:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the interplay among child maltreatment, biological embedding (BE), and health status.
- Test how BE operates independently and in conjunction with psychosocial and behavioural factors to explain the relationship between maltreatment and health status.
- Test the moderating effects of genotype, gender, ethnicity, pubertal stage, and maltreatment type on models developed by the first two aims.
