Broad and Deep Analyses in Neurodegeneration
The BRAIN network was established in 2016 to carry out "big data" analyses providing new insights into dementia prevention and treatment. BRAIN will focus on building an infrastructure for longitudinal studies which track the trajectory of dementia, developing algorithms for delineating cognitive decline, and assessing the ethical questions involved in research on dementia. A major goal will be to facilitate collaborations between Canadian and international studies and research groups, particularly to answer questions about gene-environment interaction, which require very large sample sizes.
BRAIN is funded through a CIHR grant for the Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging (CCNA).
